MULLED ROSÉ

  Wine Cocktails

SERVES 6

Ingredients: 

  • 750ml bottle of De Bortoli Rosé Rosé 
  • 1 orange, halved
  • 375ml clear apple juice
  • 55g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks or quills
  • 3 whole star anise
  • 125ml cherry brandy or Grand Marnier
  • 1 small Pink Lady apple, very thinly sliced

Method:

  1. Use a vegetable peeler to peel 4 strips of rind from 1 orange half, avoiding white pith, then juice the half. Chop the remaining orange half.
  2. Place orange rind, orange juice and chopped orange in a saucepan. Add De Bortoli Rosé Rosé, apple juice, sugar, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon and star anise. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low. Cook for 5 mins or until aromatic. Remove from heat.
  3. Add brandy or Grand Marnier and apple and stir to combine. Divide among serving glasses. Serve immediately.
