My partner and I visited De Bortoli Winery in the Yarra Valley to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly the perfect day. From the breathtaking views to the exceptional service, everything exceeded our expectations.
We were warmly welcomed and hosted by Scott, who absolutely made our experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the wine tasting fun and engaging. His passion for the wines and the region really shone through — we learned so much while laughing and enjoying every moment.
The wines were outstanding — smooth, full of character, and beautifully presented. The Noble One and Pinot Noir were our personal favourites. De Bortoli is not only visually stunning, but the care and attention from the team, especially Scott, made it a memorable and intimate experience. It was the perfect way to celebrate our special day, and we can’t wait to come back.

De Bortoli hosted our Wedding recovery breakfast and it was absolutely outstanding, we have had nothing but compliments from all our guests and thoroughly enjoyed the morning ourselves.
The morning ran so smoothly, the place was set so nicely when we arrived and everything was ready to go on time, there was so much food and the quality was amazing. Fruit and pastries were ready on arrival with a full cooked breakfast served once all guest had arrived and had a chance to mingle. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning and it was the perfect finish to the most amazing wedding day.

What a wonderful place for a 3-course lunch!
My wife and I had an amazing date booked for her birthday, where we were privately flown in by helicopter to this stunning spot. The scenery was breathtaking, and the interior was very classy yet quaint and cosy.
Once we sat down, we had the charcuterie board to share, steak with crispy potatoes for main, and a cheeseboard to finish things off. Every mouthful was delicious, and the wines paired beautifully. 10/10 highly recommended!

Penny's Birthday luncheon for 31 guests - deliscious and beautifully presented
I would like to let all of you at De Bortoli know that our dining experience on Saturday in your Locale restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. We were greeted so nicely, the tables and room were delightful and the service and professionality of Tony, our Maître D and the team were pleasant, cheerful and helpful. We weren’t rushed in any way, he ensured that the courses were served in a smooth and comfortable manner and his helpfulness and suggestions were gold. And then the food! We had so much to eat and every item was delicious and beautifully presented. The wines also were of a high quality and delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the whole package was. Penny, my wife, was knocked out with the whole experience and our friends have not stopped thanking us and telling us what a great time they had. So thanks to all of you at De Bortoli, we won’t hesitate to visit you again.

Fantastic and accomodating
A BIG thank you to De Bortoli Wines. We just had my father in laws 90th Birthday Celebration at the Yarra Valley. The staff were fantastic and so accommodating, made the day stress free. Tastings that are memorable
Beautiful cellar door with excellent tastings. The views here are pretty but it's the tastings that are memorable. Had a tasting with wine and cheese pairing and the pairings were so well done. Both the wines and cheese shone and while I prefer drinking reds, all 5 wines that we tasted were delicious. Our host and server was very knowledgeable, good at explaining the tastings, and hospitable. Totally recommend.

An extra special Sunday lunch
To all the Staff and Management at Locale, Steve, myself and the family had a fantastic day at your gorgeous winery. The service was impeccable, the food perfect and the wines speak for themselves. The additionals that made the day extra special was the gifting of Steve’s favourite dessert wine – Noble One was very generous and it was no trouble for you to package up mum’s meal to take to the hospital as she couldn’t make it to lunch because of a nasty fall. Everyone went above and beyond right from the booking stage to the settling of the account. By the way the cake looked spectacular. We would have no hesitation recommending your venue for a special occasion, a wedding or just a great Sunday lunch. Thanks so much everyone.

'Blown away' by the experience
Me and my wife were here for lunch on the 12th and everything was exceptional. I doesn't usually call but I was so 'blown away' by the experience that I just had to. In particular I found the service by Tony - was superb and the fact that we were not rushed and spent around 3 hours enjoying the afternoon was amazing. I could find no fault with the venue, food, wine or service.

A Fabulous Restaurant
My wife and I plus our family and friends that joined us for a dinner on Saturday night and then lunch on Sunday at the Locale Restaurant, just had the most fabulous experience. The food was just amazing, the atmosphere in the restaurant just fabulous and the staff and service was incredible.

A great venue to have a celebration
I am absolutely thrilled with the experience we had at ‘Locale’. The staff were fantastic. We could not fault them. The two guests who had dietary requirements were very pleased with what they were served. The way the birthday cake was handled was brilliant. Why did I have worries beforehand? The food was delicious. My husband, whose birthday it was turning 90, had a most wonderful time and wished it would just go on and on. All our guests were so pleased and agreed with me that it was a great venue to have a celebration.

Vinetrekker Visit
We loved the tour. We particularly liked the first vineyard we visited.…..De Bortoli. The presentation was very professional. We loved the cheeses paired with the wines which really enhanced the experience and the lady who introduced the wines was so knowledgeable and I would say deeply affectionate of the winery. I thought she owned it. I felt like I was her guest.

A wonderful lunch
Dear Locale, I had a wonderful lunch. The food was delicious and filling. It was lovely to see the care in the presentation. I was impressed by the customer service of your young staff. It was refreshing to experience a new generation that had focus on their task and provided the service at this type of venue. The manager was warm and welcoming. It is a feature of dining to chat with members of the leadership team about the venue and the dining if the mood takes you there. The views and the venue decor were wonderful. They impress upon the memory and supplement the overall experience of fine dining.

We had a wonderful day and made a great memory
Hi Lisa, Just wanted to let you know that everything went really well yesterday. My brother in law was VERY surprised and overwhelmed by the whole event. Our seating area and arrangement was perfect with beautiful sunshine streaming in. Food was amazing…..there was plenty to go around and was delicious. Everyone was well seated and enjoyed it immensely. The drinks we ordered were beautiful, we even purchased a bottle of the Este on the way out it was so good. I’m sorry I can’t remember the name of the girl who was in charge (Naomi comes to mind but I’m probably way off and apologies to her for forgetting her name). She was excellent and and helpful as were the catering staff that attended to us, particularly the male (forgive me if this is politically incorrect now) waiter (I didn’t catch his name) who was extremely helpful at all times and very pleasant. Please thank him for us. I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone considering a function, be it a birthday like we had, or a wedding. We had a wonderful day and made a great memory for Wayne. Thank you again for your help over the past few months organizing everything.

50th Wedding Anniversary
Hi Lisa, thank you for your part in our successful 50th wedding anniversary on 15th May. Dad's 90th Birthday
Just a quick note to say we had the most enjoyable lunch celebrating my Dad's 90th Birthday on Sunday. My Dad thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. The staff, in particular, Laura was great and the older man, Tony that greeted us on arrival - both were super helpful and professional. I couldn't fault anything on the day and the food and drinks were delicious. We ended up having pre-dinner drinks and arancini balls outside as the weather was great and the sun was shining and we were able to take family photos in front of the grapevines. The event wouldn't have been so streamlined without your amazing organisation so thank you.
I look forward to returning soon for dinner and a tasting.

My Group of 8 all felt "royal"
Wow, what a fantastic experience we had at DeBortoli yesterday.
First we were met and welcomed by you, then we had a great tasting with Tiffany followed by a superb lunch where we were looked after by Laura, Tony and the team. My group of 8 all felt "royal"!
All staff that we met were very professional and knowledgeable, they enjoyed their jobs, they were very loyal to DeBortoli and they knew how to read the client and provide the appropriate service. Such encounters take positive and consistent training and management. I believe that DeBortoli have developed and implemented a great package. Based on other Yarra Valley tastings over the past few days, the DeBortoli experience is streets ahead.
Once again Leanne, many thanks to you, Tiffany, Laura and their teams for making our 4.5 hour visit so special.

Birthday Lunch

Great Birthday Lunch
I had an an amazing birthday on Sunday. Everything went well, the staff were great, the food, wine and dessert so yummy.
Everyone commented on the lovely views and the restaurant. We didn't go outside for the nibbles and drinks but the tables were set out beautifully and we had plenty of room to mingle.
The sun did come out later in the afternoon. Thank you for organising my 60th.

Great Lunch!
Thank - you for everything. I just wanted to let you know that the lunch went amazingly well. We all had a great time and the birthday girl loved it. Food and drinks were great.
I also wanted to give you some feedback, a young lady named Stephanie (Steph) served our table along with some of your other team members, but Steph looked after us for the day. She was amazing, and absolute brilliant waitress and very much looked after us. I work in hospitality, and know how rare it is to find great employees like her, so I wanted to recognize her efforts and let you know she is a definite superstar in your team!
They say more people take the time to write a complaint than a compliment, thus I know how important it is to get good feedback - and just wanted to let you know I'd be recommending De Bortoli if anyone is looking for somewhere in Yarra Valley, as you guys do a great job!

A Thursday lunch and packed out
We regularly dine out for lunch on Thursdays and were surprised to see this restaurant with all tables filled. Then we found out why.... the food was delightful. A range if delicious entrees (the pumpkin was a stand out) followed by scrumptious mains (many quite different from the “norm”) ending with the best panacotta. The wine list, while not extensive, canvasses the best Australian wines. The location is great, the ambience interesting and the service first rate. If you are entertaining overseas visitors, De Bertoli’s is a great choice.

Great
Weekday visit for two for lunch, with a window setting overlooking the vineyard. We started with the shared tasting plate, a first for us. A good assortment to try, tasty and plentiful. We followed with two pasta dishes, gnocchi and tortellini. These were light and tasty, not at all "gluggy", and the best pasta dishes we have eaten in a long time. For dessert we had the tiramisu and panacotta, both excellent. Service was smooth and efficient without being in your face. We have eaten at this restaurant on a number of occasions but this was one of the best meals we have enjoyed. For some Asian diners close to our table the highlight of lunch was I suspect not the meal, but the kangaroo hopping through the vineyard. Cameras out, big grins and fasination all over their faces.

70th Birthday
I just wanted to thank you and your team very much for the wonderful hospitality you and your staff provided our family with on Saturday to celebrate my 70th birthday. The excellent service began with the easy and understanding service I received from you when booking the venue.
The separate room was ideal for us to contain the small children, all the food was tasty and beautifully presented, the wine terrific and your staff couldn’t have been more helpful. A special mention of Leah who was so accommodating and thoughtful. We especially appreciated the manner in which the children were treated.
Overall, your restaurant and staff , in such a beautiful setting, made my celebration very special. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation to all your staff.
