De Bortoli’s 2022 Noble One further solidifies the brand’s position as Australia’s benchmark Botrytis dessert wine, winning eight trophies and twelve Gold Medals across the 2026 awards shows. The Noble One brand was created in 1982 by Darren De Bortoli, using the Botrytis fungus as a method of dehydrating the grapes, producing deliciously sweet fruit. It has since gone on to become one of the most awarded wine brands in history.
The 2022 vintage is an explosion of honey, tropical fruits, and cumquats. It has scents of vanilla and a hint of spice, with perfectly balanced sweetness and acidity. Grown in the Riverina region, the grapes experienced early summer rain, leading to one of the earliest harvests on record. This wine can be enjoyed in its youth, but also promises excellent cellaring. 2022 Noble One pairs beautifully with caramelised pears and figs, or with a roast quail with a sticky balsamic glaze. Alternatively, a glass of this sweet wine could serve as the entire dessert itself!
The 2022 vintage earned major recognition at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards, Perth Wine Show, Adelaide Wine Show, and National Capital Wine Show. In total it won eight trophies across the 2026 wine shows.
Among the vintage’s standout results are Best Sweet White Wine at the 2026 Perth Wine Show, Best Sweet White Table Wine at the 2026 Adelaide Wine Show, and the Sweet White Trophy at the 2026 National Capital Wine Show. These accolades build on an already strong run of recognition throughout 2025, with trophies won last year at the Brisbane, Cowra, Hobart, Riverland and Rutherglen wine shows.
It also received twelve gold medals across Australian and international competitions, including the Decanter World Wine Awards and Winewise Championship.
These wins only extend Noble One’s reign of over 40 years as Australia’s benchmark Botrytis Dessert Wine. Winning awards at both domestic and international wine shows, this brand continues to be recognised at a high level worldwide.
