The One Line Brand

The One Line brand aims to embody Rutherglen’s unique terroir and climate, telling the story of wine from the vineyard, to the bottle, to the glass. A story that never ends, and a story that is imbued with De Bortoli’s expert winemaking and constant promise of good quality wine that anyone can enjoy. De Bortoli's winemaking expertise is evident throughout the One Line range, with all four varietals being recognised at award shows across the 2026 season.

The Rutherglen region, in north-eastern Victoria, is most known for its world-famous fortified wines, in particular Muscat. However, award-winning red and white varietals from the region are quickly emerging. 

2026 Pinot Grigio Wins Trophies & Gold

De Bortoli’s 2026 One Line Pinot Grigio was recognised with trophies and gold medals across the 2026 awards season. The 2026 vintage won the Best Pinot Gris/Grigio and the Fassina Liquor trophies at the Adelaide Wine Show. It was also recognised with the Best Dry White Or Other Variety Trophy at the Cowra Wine Show. 

In addition, the One Line Pinot Grigio was awarded Gold Medals from Rutherglen, Cowra, and Adelaide Wine Shows.

The grapes were sourced from the King Valley and Rutherglen region, with growing seasons in both locations proving challenging. Despite this, surprisingly strong wines were produced. This Pinot Grigio is beautifully aromatic, with a saline minerality on the palate. This is supported by fresh lime zest and flavours of grapefruit and white flowers.

Award Winning Fiano

2025 One Line Fiano was awarded with gold this year at the 2026 Drinks Business Autumn Masters, demonstrating international acclaim for white wine from the Rutherglen region. With grapes sourced from a warmer and drier than average season in Rutherglen, this vintage is textual on the palate, with flavors of ripe citrus combined with fresh acidity. The process of barrel fermentation allows the wine to have a complex, warm profile, with a finish of spice and hazelnut.

Award-Winning One Line Reds

The two red varietals of the One Line brand were also awarded multiple gold medals; the 2024 Tempranillo and 2024 Sangiovese. This Tempranillo is a mouth-filling wine, with its grainy tannins and subtle tobacco flavour, with notes of crushed red fruits and dark berries. The 2024 vintage took home a gold medal at the 2026 Sydney Wine Show and the 2026 Riverland Wine Show.
The Sangiovese has a balance of cherry and strawberry, with integrated oak supported by mouth coating tannins. The wine has a lovely savoury finish. The wine won gold medals at the 2026 Riverland Wine Show and the 2026 Winewise Championship.

 

These wins, across multiple different awards shows, only further extend De Bortoli’s legacy of producing high-quality wines that are enjoyed both domestically and internationally. Beyond this, De Bortoli is demonstrating that there can be so much more to the Rutherglen region than the splendid fortified wines it is famous for.
