De Bortoli Wines has been recognised for the second time as a 'Platinum Partner of Sustainability Advantage, a program of the NSW Office of Energy and Climate Change. Leading the way as the sole Platinum Partner in the program, this partnership recognises enduring and outstanding leadership, commitment to regenerative principles and innovative sustainability achievements.
De Bortoli Wines has been a partner with Sustainability Advantage since 2005 and has since achieved numerous accolades for its commitment and ongoing achievements in sustainability. The Sustainability Advantage Gold Partner status was awarded twice in 2014 and 2019. De Bortoli was the first NSW business to achieve the Sustainability Advantage Platinum Project in 2016.
Being the first company to achieve Platinum Partner in the Sustainability Advantage Program in 2022 recognises the effort of De Bortoli Wines as an organisation that consistently demonstrated innovation, performance and sustainability practices in becoming a Zero Waste Winery.
With the recent recognition for the second time as a 'Platinum Partner of Sustainability Advantage and the sole Platinum Partner in the program further solidifies the culture at De Bortoli of continuous improvement to explore new and innovative approaches to sustainable wine production. There are 2 key areas to highlight which are reduction in energy consumption and sustainable packaging initiatives which De Bortoli has undertaken more recently.
Since 2009, De Bortoli has measured greenhouse emissions with reduction in emissions centred on reducing energy required for the production of wine. Data provided shows a consistent drop in emissions as a result of the following initiatives:
