De Bortoli are very excited to welcome you back to Locale Restaurant re-opening on Saturday 31st October 2020.
Whilst everyone has been away, our vines have bloomed, the flowers are abundant, our grounds are manicured and our wines and brand new spring menu are just waiting for you!
We would love you to come and visit and experience our renowned hospitality.
All restaurant bookings must be pre-booked. Please bear in mind that we are currently limited with the number of customers that we are able to accommodate at the moment, therefore bookings are essential.
All tastings will currently be offered only at the table with a restaurant booking.

Experience warm Italian hospitality at Locale where our philosophy of great wine, food and friends come together in a magnificent setting. Many of our ingredients are grown on the Yarra Valley Estate. Our menu reflects the seasons as distinctly as the views of the vineyards from the restaurant windows and is designed around the traditional Italian idea of shared plates. A range of local and imported salumi and cheeses, meat and fish dishes and a range of classic Italian desserts all matched with a glass or two of De Bortoli wine make sharing and dining at Locale easy, fun and very delicious.
Emeri De Bortoli is the heart and soul of our Yarra Valley Estate restaurant Locale. Her vision of a northern Italian-inspired trattoria with skillfully cooked, authentically Italian dishes made with fresh local produce continues to define what we do. It’s all about the De Bortoli family philosophy of sharing good food and wine with family and friends.
Home made pasta and authentically cooked risotto are menu constants while the sauces and ingredients that go with them change depending on the time of year. Bookings are essential.

Restaurant and Cellar Door will be closed on Christmas Day 25th December 2020.

After completing the Specialised Chefs Scholarship at Bournemouth and Poole College (one of the best cooking schools in the UK) Ben found his way to Australia and Locale where he joined as Sous Chef and is now Head Chef. His average day starts with setting up the kitchen, prepping for service and making fresh pasta before checking off orders and planning for upcoming events.
