VINTAGE 2020
RUTHERGLEN, VIC

As we approach the 2020 Vintage Season, De Bortoli Rutherglen are seeking to fill some key roles in both our Winery & Vineyard Operations.

Fork Lift Driver/Cellar Hand

We require a fit enthusiastic individual with a current forklift license to work during the exciting harvest period in our Rutherglen Winery. The successful applicant will be highly motivated and have the ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team environment. A mechanical aptitude is a must, as some Cellar work will be required. There will be some shift work involved, and Cellar or Vintage experience is preferred however not essential.

Tractor Driver

We are also seeking a fit & self-motivated Tractor Driver to work as part of the Vineyards Harvest Team. The ability to work autonomously is a must, as well as availability for shift work, as some night shift work will be required. A current forklift license is not essential, however will be considered favourable.

Both of these positions will commence in early February 2020 and will run for 6 to 8 weeks. Applicants must be available for the entire Vintage period.

CASUAL WAIT STAFF
LOCALE RESTAURANT, YARRA VALLEY

Located amongst the vines on our Yarra Valley Estate is our Winery, Cellar Door and Restaurant. Locale Restaurant is an integral part of the visitor experience of De Bortoli and we currently have multiple opportunities available for suitably experienced persons to fill these important roles in our award-winning restaurant. These roles would ideally suit confident, enthusiastic individuals with well-developed food and beverage skills.

Commitment to the achievement of our team objectives, as well as an absolute passion for providing an outstanding customer experience is paramount. Recent experience in a quality à la carte restaurant, as well as a current RSA would also be highly regarded. The Restaurant operates for lunch Thursday to Monday, as well as for dinner Saturday evenings and as such candidates are expected to be available for both weekday and weekend shifts.

CHEF DE PARTIE

Reporting to the Head Chef, duties will include:

  • Preparation and assembly of ingredients.
  • General cooking
  • Effective management of food production to minimise wastage
  • Ensuring hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with legislation
  • Contributing to the effectiveness of the kitchen team

The successful applicant will have a passion for quality & consistency and be able to utilise their extensive food knowledge and creativity to sustain a high level of innovation in all kitchen activities & operations. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN – MICROBIOLOGY
BILBUL, NSW

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory team in our Microbiology Department. This role involves a range of duties including;

  • Undertake required laboratory operations and analysis as directed
  • Perform all analysis and reporting in accordance with the laboratory quality system
  • Identify out of specification results/analysis and escalate for further action as required
  • Ensure all laboratory operations and activities are performed in a manner that ensures compliance with internal and external operating procedures, policies and standards
  • Promote safe attitudes and work practices

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic person who is qualified in Microbiology or a science related discipline with excellent oral & written communication skills and strong computer skills. The successful candidate will also be flexible, adaptable, possess sound attention to detail, possess a knowledge of laboratory operating procedures and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. A knowledge of Quality Management Systems/GMP requirements and good laboratory practices are a must.

We are seeking a suitably experienced person to fill this hands-on role in our Award Winning Restaurant. This salaried position requires strong leadership skills and would ideally suit a confident, enthusiastic person with well developed food and beverage skills.
