CELLAR DOOR SUPERVISOR
HUNTER VALLEY, NEW SOUTH WALES


De Bortoli Wines is one of Australia’s leading family owned and operated wine companies with extensive national and international markets. Located amongst the vines on our Hunter Valley Estate, our Cellar Door is an integral part of the visitor experience of De Bortoli.

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and trustworthy Cellar Door Supervisor to join our dynamic team in delivering an outstanding customer experience. The key responsibilities of this hands-on role include:

  • Host customer visits for groups, tours and other experiences
  • Actively market and promote the Company's products and services.
  • Perform administrative and stock related procedures and processes in accordance with Head Office requirements and timeframes
  • Supervise staff and provide back-up to the Cellar Door Manager in overseeing the daily operations and administrative tasks
  • Provide staff training and mentoring to foster the development of wine knowledge within the team 

The preferred applicant will have an extensive knowledge and awareness of wine styles and trends and be able to effectively share this knowledge  with visitors, fellow team members and other Company representatives. 
Other key qualities include experience in customer service, strong administration skills, a sound attention to detail, an outgoing personality and hands-on attitude, as well as a passion for the product, people and the wine industry. A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate is considered essential whilst relevant studies and formal qualifications in hospitality/wine as well as experience within a Cellar Door environment would be highly advantageous for the preferred applicant.

CELLAR DOOR SALES ASSISTANT
HEAD OFFICE, BILBUL

We are looking to appoint a Full Time Sales Assistant to join our award winning Cellar Door Sales team at our Bilbul winery. This position reports to the Cellar Door Sales Manager and duties will include:

  • Providing a high level of customer service to our visitors
  • Performing key administration duties associated with the Cellar Door operations
  • Packing and despatching wines
  • Maintaining a high level of presentation of the Cellar Door

The successful applicant will be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, have excellent customer service skills, sound computer skills and be well presented. This position will involve various shifts per week depending on the roster, including weekend work and winery events/functions.     
A knowledge of wine or a willingness to learn about wine is essential as is a current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.

VINTAGE 2021
BILBUL, NEW SOUTH WALES

With the 2021 Vintage season just around the corner, we are seeking to fill the following seasonal positions within our Riverina-based operation: 

  • Cellar Hands
  • Laboratory Technicians
  • Field Officers

These supervised roles cover a range of duties including grower liaison, grape receival and testing, processing of fruit, juice and wine, operation of key winery equipment, maintenance of winery equipment, vintage winemaking activities and general house keeping. Key performance criteria for these roles include; minimising waste and damage to product, maintaining quality throughout the winemaking process and most importantly working in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

Applicants must be prepared and available to:

  • Participate in an interview/selection process, week commencing 2nd November 2020 (Relevant Covid-19 guidelines will apply)
  • Undertake employee screening including a physical assessment and urine drug and alcohol testing
  • Participate in our Company's extensive employee induction program
  • Work extended shifts as required 

Whilst not essential, previous experience within the wine industry and relevant accredited training would be considered an advantage. Successful applicants must be committed and reliable, have the ability to work as a team member, be willing to learn new skills and have their own transport and accommodation. KITCHEN HAND
LOCALE RESTURANT, YARRA VALLEY

De Bortoli Wines is one of Australia’s leading family owned and operated wine companies with extensive national and international markets. Located amongst the vines on our Yarra Valley Estate, Locale Restaurant is an integral part of the visitor experience of De Bortoli.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Hand to join our busy and award winning Restaurant.  The Restaurant is open for lunch Thursday through to Monday and is open for dinner on Saturday evenings. Reporting to the Head Chef, responsibilites of this position will include: 

  • Washing dishes, cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils
  • General food preparation
  • Kitchen cleaning duties during service and at the end of service
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Follow all Work Health & Safety practices while performing work duties

Preferred applicants will possess previous experience in a similar role, an understanding of food hygiene and safe work practices as well as the ability to work in a cohesive team environment. The following desirable criteria will also apply:

  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Own transportation and current drivers licence are essential
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays

CHEF DE PARTIE
LOCALE RESTAURANT, YARRA VALLEY

Located amongst the vines on our Yarra Valley Estate is our Winery, Cellar Door and Restaurant.  Locale Restaurant is an integral part of the visitor experience of De Bortoli and we are currently looking for an experienced Chef De Partie to join our innovative and dynamic team.  

Reporting to the Head Chef, duties will include:

  • Preparation and assembly of ingredients.
  • General cooking
  • Effective management of food production to minimise wastage
  • Ensuring hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with legislation
  • Contributing to the effectiveness of the kitchen team

The successful applicant will have a passion for quality & consistency and be able to utilise their extensive food knowledge and creativity to sustain a high level of innovation in all kitchen activities & operations.  A high level of communication and attention to detail, as well as the ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment are considered essential to succeed in this role.

VINTAGE 2021
YARRA VALLEY, VICTORIA

De Bortoli Wines Yarra Valley comprises of a small team of highly committed staff with a passion for wine quality. We are seeking like minded individuals to join our operation located in Dixons Creek (50km east of Melbourne) for the 2021 Vintage season in the following roles:

  • Cellar Hands
  • Laboratory Technician

The cellarhand roles cover a range of duties including processing of fruit, juice and wine, operation of key winery equipment, vintage winemaking activities and general house keeping. Key performance criterias for these roles include; minimising waste and damage to product, maintaining quality throughout the winemaking process and most importantly working in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Previous  experience in a winery and relevant accredited training would an advantage.
The Lab Technician role covers a range of duties including sampling, analysing juice and wine, operation of basic laboratory equipment, other vintage winemaking activities and general house keeping. Key performance criterias for this role include; minimising waste and damage to product, maintaining quality throughout the winemaking process and most importantly working in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Previous studies in chemistry would be advantageous.
