Emeri De Bortoli is the heart and soul of our Yarra Valley Estate restaurant Locale. Her vision of a northern Italian-inspired trattoria with skillfully cooked, authentically Italian dishes made with fresh local produce continues to define what we do. It’s all about the De Bortoli family philosophy of sharing good food and wine with family and friends.
Locale’s menu, created by head chef Adam Mead, reflects the seasons as distinctly as the views of the vineyards from the restaurant windows. Home made pasta and authentically cooked risotto are menu constants while the sauces and ingredients that go with them change depending on the time of year – say, wild mushrooms in autumn, duck and chestnuts in the winter, broad beans and nettles in spring or the freshest, ripest heirloom tomatoes in summer. Many of our ingredients are grown right here on the Yarra Valley Estate.
Our menu is designed around the traditional Italian idea of shared plates. A range of local and imported salumi, gorgeous cheese from our Cheese Shop, meat and fish dishes and a range of classic Italian desserts all matched with a glass or two of De Bortoli wine make sharing and dining at Locale easy, fun and very delicious.

Thursday - Monday: from 12pm for lunch
Saturday: from 12pm for lunch and 6pm for dinner
Opened for lunch only on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
