DB Rosé 2009

Region
Riverina.

Appearance
Bright rosewater red/light crimson.

Bouquet
Clean refreshing red berry and cherry aromas. Predominantly fruit driven with
confectionery undertones.

Palate
Clean and crisp. Soft berry flavours, medium length with a slightly sweet fruit finish.

Vintage Conditions
The lead up to the 2009 vintage in the Riverina was one of the best ever with refreshing spring rains and mild December temperatures resulting in fruit with exceptional flavour intensity and acid structure. However an unprecedented heat wave of 40° + at the end of January that lasted 14 days caused the vines to shut down and ripening to stall for three weeks. Fortunately, despite the conditions vintage quality was good to excellent.

Winemaking
Fruit from selected vineyards is harvested at 12.5° to achieve a fruity, elegant style. A cool soak of crushed fruit on skins to extract delicate Rosé flavour and colour, is followed by cool fermentation with a specially selected yeast to retain and enhance fruit aromas and flavours.

UK
"The new packaged 2009 vintage from the famous De Bortoli stronghold in Australia. This year's offering still shows off its clean-as-a-whistle nose of cherries and redcurrants which lead into a mouthwatering raspberry and strawberry charged palate. Moreish and the perfect companion to lobster or barbecued king prawns."
