Region
Riverina
Appearance
Pale straw.
Bouquet
Lifted rose aromas complemented by a subtle spiciness are balanced with a fresh citrus lift.
Palate
The crisp acid of Riesling is a perfect match for the generously rounded Traminer fruit. This sweet fruity wine has a great balance of floral rose, musk and spice.
Vintage Conditions
The lead up to vintage 2010 saw quite mild growing conditions and some rainfall. The rain abated for half of vintage, January through to middle of February with disease pressure being very low during this time. January and February night temperatures were quite mild allowing fruit to ripen and retain good acidity.
Winemaking
Selected parcels of Traminer and Riesling were chosen for their varietal characteristics to enhance the flavour profile for this wine. With the Traminer we are looking for spicy musk and floral and rose petal flavours to combine wit the floral and citrus flavours of the Riesling. Each parcel of fruit was fermented separately over 12-16 days at 12-14ºC. Once completed the wines were blended accordingly, clarified and stabilised prior to final filtration and bottling.

86 Points
"Blended of 62.5% Traminer and 35.25% Riesling (plus something else, unnamed), the 2010 DB Traminer Riesling has pronounced aromas of lychees, rose petals and apricots. Crisp, light-bodied with notable use of sweetness (28.5 grams per liter of residual sugar), it is well balanced with a long finish of tropical fruit and Turkish delight. Drink it now to 2012. (This one is not available in the USA.)
