Export - Deen Vat 10 Pinot Noir 2008

Region
Victoria and Riverina

Appearance
Cherry red in colour with tinges of light purple

Bouquet
Forest floor and sweet fruit aromas

Palate
The palate shows characters of cherry and strawberry fruits. Silky tannin with nice herbaceous lift.

Vintage Conditions
Warmer than usual January nights led to some varieties reaching maturity earlier than previous years. Late ‘07 rains &  showers in January ensured vines in good health. A cooler February than usual allowed for good fruit development and varietal expression.

Winemaking
Fruit parcels individually selected by wine maker. Warm fermentation temperatures and gentle colour tannin extraction used to create a soft wine style. Whole bunches included in ferment.

"A bit beefy on the nose with cola, tea, tar and smoldering underbrush notes accenting sweet cranberry fruit. Rather round and lush on the entry, then turning nicely taut through the mid-palate. Soft tannins support nicely round, lightweight cherry and slightly peachy fruit rolls onto a fairly long, somewhat rusty and lightly stemmy finish. This shows a nice level of complexity with an edge of maturity, adding sweetness and softness to the palate."

"This wine is ruby red in color, varietal for a Pinot Noir. On the nose are the usual black fruits and some rustic bouquets again varietal for a Pinot Noir. On the mid pallet are the usual earthy notes with some rustic flavors. The wine has a long finish. This wine is a smack on varietal Pinot Noir. A good deal for the price. I would give it an 89 or so! Yummy."
