PHI

The PHI Partners are pleased to announce a change in trade representation and distribution of the PHI Wines. From Monday May 10, De Bortoli Fine Wine will be handling PHI national distribution.

The 2008 PHI Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have just been released.  2008 is perhaps one of the best vintages we have seen in recent years. Quite fine minerally Chardonnay, Sauvignon with varietal nuance but lots of complexity and texture and a very aromatic and perfumed Pinot Noir.

No 2009 vintage was made due to the horrendous heat and bushfi res but the 2010 is now tucked up in bed for winter and the wines look quite smart. The website (phiwines.com) is getting an upgrade in the next month or so and will be linked to the De Bortoli and Shelmerdine websites.

Cheers,
Stephen Shelmerdine Steve Webber

Chardonnay from this vineyard shows delicacy, complexity and minerality. Varietal intensity and oak influence are generally in balance with the vineyard site and season characters.
Other Vintages:2008
Subtle ‘Euro’ Sauvignon style with nuance of variety, lots of texture and poise.
Other Vintages:2008
The Lusatia Park ‘B’ Block Pinot Noir is one of the more aromatic Pinot Noir sites in the upper Yarra Valley. To preserve these aromatics, we are extremely careful in the way we extract colour and flavour from the skins. Lots of whole berry fermentation and minimum plunging and remontage helps us to achieve this.
Other Vintages:2008
Crimson hue, succulent, juicy, ripe, lightly spiced, cherry fruit and chalky tannins. Lots of perfume and poise.
