Gulf Station

Gulf Station is the original pastoral holding of the Bell family who settled the Yarra Valley in 1864. The site of the De Bortoli Winery was known as the 'Summer Paddock'. It had a large dam, held green pasture throughout the dry summer months and was a cool place to be seen drinking premium Yarra Valley wine.




Showing melon flavours and subtle integrated barrel ferment characters, texture, elegance and restraint with a good crisp finish.

Nuanced honey and hay aromas, subtle oak and some minerality. After fermentation the wine was stirred every few days to give texture and complexity.

Fresh floral aromas with zesty citrus notes. Intense varietal fruit flavours that finish with delicacy & freshness balanced by fine acidity. Frequent lees stirring gives texture.

 

Intense grassy fruit characters with subtle barrel influences, gentle acid and lingering finish. After fermentation the wines were stirred fortnightly to give complexity and texture.

Sourced from our estate vineyard and selected complementary vineyards, this wine is tightly focused with classic blackcurrant and cassis characters complemented with subtle oak.

 

Complex red and dark berry aromas with underlying earth and forest floor characters. Medium bodied with intense berry and spice flavours, texture, length and balance.
