A elegant wine showing aromas of lemon and lime with soft hints of honey and lanolin.
Palate
The palate shows lovely varietal definition with flinty acidity giving way to lemon curd.
Vintage Conditions
Were highlighted with warm days and mild nights and favourable dry conditions. This allowed fruit to reach opportune physiological ripeness producing fruit of the highest quality.
Winemaking
Fruit was sourced from our Murphy Vineyard planted in the mid 60’s on the acclaimed alluvial sandy loam soils. Fruit was picked in the cool of the morning by hand and transported to the winery in small 10kg buckets. 100% destemmed, crushed and settled overnight. The juice is racked and a selected yeast added for primary fermentation in stainless steel. Fermentation temperatures are maintained between 14-16°C to retain pristine fruit characters. Post fermentation the wine is prepared for early bottling.

"Lifted semillon aromas with a complex cheesy touch and nice honeyed notes. Lovely fresh, mature, honeyed palate. Great varietal flavour depth with zesty acidity."

95 Points
Quite a restrained and delicate bouquet, with lemon curd and anise on show; the palate is fine, almost ethereal, with crisp acidity providing a clean and focused conclusion.
James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2011, August 2010
"Pristine, pure and backwards, this is a wine of definition and restraint. Primary lemon fruit is morphing into preserved lemon and roast nuts with nuances of lanolin. Tight and coiled up, it needs a few years yet and will happily live beyond a decade."
, Wine 100, March 2010
