Gevrey Chambertin is in the Côte d’Or, the heart of France’s Burgundy region, home to the world's great Pinot Noir. Winemaker Steve Webber spent three consecutive vintages from 2003 – 2005 making tiny quantities of Gevrey-Chambertin in what has been described as a 'cross cultural winemaking odyssey.' It was here Steve came to a new understanding of wine which underpins De Bortoli's winemaking philosophy – it's about the vineyard and delivering perfect fruit to the winery.
