VINTAGE 2019
BILBUL, NEW SOUTH WALES

With the 2019 Vintage season just around the corner, we are seeking to fill the following seasonal positions within our Riverina-based operation: 

  • Cellar Hands
  • Laboratory Technicians
  • Field Officers
  • Maintenance Fitters/Tradespersons
  • Vintage Winemaker

These supervised roles cover a range of duties including grower liaison, grape receival and testing, processing of fruit, juice and wine, operation of key winery equipment, maintenance of winery equipment, vintage winemaking activities and general house keeping. Key performance criteria for these roles include; minimising waste and damage to product, maintaining quality throughout the winemaking process and most importantly working in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

Applicants must be prepared and available to: 

  • Attend an interview week commencing 5th November 2018
  • Undertake employee screening including physical and urine drug and alcohol testing
  • Participate in our Company's extensive employee induction program
  • Work extended shifts as required

Whilst not essential, previous experience within the wine industry and relevant accredited training would be considered an advantage. Successful applicants must be committed and reliable, have the ability to work as a team member, be willing to learn new skills and have their own transport and accommodation. All training will be provided by the company.

CELLAR DOOR SALES ASSISTANT
YARRA VALLEY, VICTORIA

We are seeking to appoint a casual Cellar Door Sales Assistant to join our award winning Cellar Door Sales team. This casual position reports directly to the Cellar Door Manager and would involve three to five days per week, including weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Maximise wine sales with customers/visitors
  • Promote our brand by engaging and educating our guests
  • Maintain a high level of presentation of the cellar door

The successful applicant will possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to work in a team environment as well as under pressure on busy days. A passion for the wine industry and a sound knowledge of wines is essential as is a current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA). 

We are seeking an individual who will also be physically capable of picking and packing wine club boxes when necessary.

WSET and Cellar Door experience will be highly regarded.

DESPATCH ASSISTANT

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

A rewarding and challenging opportunity has become available for a Financial Controller to join our senior executive management team. This position is directly responsible for finance and accounting strategies, methods, practices and procedures across the De Bortoli group of companies and associated operations. Key functions and acountabilities comprise:

  • Overseeing all management accounting functions across the DeBortoli group of companies
  • Ensuring compliance in all statutory reporting obligations and responsibilities
  • Overseeing taxation management, administration and compliance
  • Ensuring policies, practices and controls are appropriate to the needs of the company 
  • Leading and supporting the business in capturing strategic development opportunities
  • Building effective relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing strategic insight and input into the company's business planning processes

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic professional with a high level of experience in both operational and strategic financial management, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications and professional affiliation/s. The successful applicant will have highly developed financial capability and understanding, ability to identify and manage key business drivers, be able to develop and implement sound strategic plans, possess highly developed people management skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organisation. Whilst not essential to the role, wine industry knowledge and/or previous experience within a FMCG related environment would be highly considered.

CELLAR DOOR ASSISTANT MANAGER
YARRA VALLEY, VICTORIA

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and trustworthy Assistant Cellar Door Supervisor to join our dynamic team delivering outstanding customer service. The role is customer service focused and key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Host customer visits for groups, tours and other educational experiences
  • Actively market and promote the Company's product and services and increase customer spend per head
  • Supervise staff and provide back up to the Cellar Door Supervisor in overseeing the daily operations and light administrative tasks 
  • Provide staff training and mentoring to foster the development of wine knowledge within the team function

The preferred applicant will have an extensive knowledge and awareness of wine styles and trends and be able to effectively share this knowledge both with visitors and also fellow team members and other Company representatives. Other key qualities include experience in supervising staff, strong administration skills, a sound attention to detail, an outgoing personality and hands on attitude, as well as a passion for the product, people and the wine industry. A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate is considered essential whilst relevant studies and formal qualifications in hospitality/wine as well as experience within a Cellar Door environment would be highly advantageous for the preferred applicant.
