Hunter Valley, New South Wales Australia
Sea breezes blowing in from the Pacific Ocean keep the valley relatively cool in what would be otherwise a warm climate. The majority of the vineyards in the Lower Hunter are situated on the extreme southern side of what is a broad and relatively flat valley, nestling on the foothills of the Brokenback Range. With few exceptions the hills are gentle, gradients modest. The soil varies widely from red duplex soils through to deep loam soils.
