“I think it would be great to build the reputation of Australian wines overseas and would love De Bortoli and the other Australia’s First Family of Wine members to take a leading role in achieving this.”
Anna De Bortoli, daughter of Managing Director Darren De Bortoli and his wife Margot, is currently studying a Bachelor of Business at RMIT University and working within De Bortoli Wines as a Marketing Assistant. She’s been working in the company in a number of different positions since she was at school – from waitressing at the family’s Yarra Valley restaurant Locale to stints on the bottling line and product development.
Anna feels a strong connection to the company, particularly in the areas of sustainability and waste reduction where, she says, “we are part of the solution rather than contributing to the problem”. Anna’s also a fan of Petit Verdot and Durif, despite the “family obsession with Yarra Valley Pinot Noir”.
Anna recently completed her WSET Level 3, which she studied for alongside her cousins Kate and Sally Webber.
