‘Bossa’, the affectionate nickname that Vittorio De Bortoli bestowed on his childhood sweetheart, Giuseppina. They are wines that are proud and authentic, but with the kind of contemporary style and vibrancy that made Giuseppina one of a kind.

Chardonnay 2011 - 4/5 stars
".. ..It’s lighter in the mouth than many similarly priced chardonnays, yet its creamy texture and length of flavour give it real presence. It finishes lingering and savoury."

Pinot Noir with Morbier, Washed Rind or Brie
The formidable Epoisses washed rind of Burgundy provides serious contrast to the complexity of a well made Pinot. Both, at their best, are just plain dirty and share barnyard characters that we find appealing. Sadly most Australian Brie styles are too clean and lack the forceful flavour of the French model.

The name Locale reflects not only the De Bortoli family's Italian heritage but also the restaurant's philosophy of sourcing the best local, seasonal and organic produce.
Lunch: Thursday to Monday from 12pm / Dinner: Saturday from 6.30pm / Closed: every Tuesday and Wednesday.

Creamy sauce:a white wine such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon
Rich meat sauce: a somewhat spicy red wine such as Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon to enhance the flavours of the meat
Pesto: a fresher style pasta deserves a fresh variety with a bit of texture such as a Rosé or Pinot Grigio

Dry and textural, slightly savoury with a lingering softness. Great as an aperitif all year round.
The palate is ripe without taking on the least bit of heaviness. It's been excellently put together, and is terrific value for the price. It's an all-purpose, any time, anywhere red.
